Cebu South Bus Terminal is where your journey starts if you’re going to the South of Cebu. Oslob? Swimming with the gigantic whale sharks? Moalboal? Kawasan Falls?
If you look like a tourist, the questions start as soon as you enter the South Bus Terminal. But not after you have made your way through a foyer full of travelers coming and going and of vendors selling snacks and pasalubong (souvenirs) into what is basically a big parking lot packed with buses. South Bus Terminal is certainly not a peaceful place, but it gets you where you need to go—if your destination is the South of Cebu Island. (Or even beyond, like Dumaguete!) You may have questions about the terminal—that’s what this page is for.
Note, if you want to go North, check out our guide to the Cebu North Bus Terminal..
How to Get to the Cebu South Bus Terminal
The Cebu South Bus Terminal is located on N. Bacalso Avenue, Cebu City, right next to City Mall. Depending on your location, you can easily reach the terminal by Grab, Taxi, Habal-Habal, or Jeepneys. If you’re taking a Grab, taxi, or habal-habal, there is a small ₱10 fee to be dropped off inside the terminal. Alternatively, you can opt to be dropped off outside the terminal and simply walk to the entrance.
Types of Buses at Cebu South Bus Terminal
When it comes to choosing your bus, you’ve got options—air-conditioned or non-air-conditioned. If you’re in for the long haul, hopping on an air-conditioned bus is a solid choice. It’s more comfortable, especially with those cozy seats to relax in. But hey, if you love feeling the breeze as the bus rolls through the scenic views and don’t mind a little wind in your hair, the regular, non-aircon buses are totally fine too. Just a heads-up: both air-conditioned and regular buses sometimes let people stand during the ride, so it can get a bit stuffy. So, pick the one that feels right for you—whether you’re all about comfort or just want to enjoy the open air!
V-Hire (Van for Hire) Option to South Cebu
Van for Hire (V-Hire) refers to shared vans that you travel in with other passengers heading to the same destination. It’s a popular alternative for those traveling south of Cebu.
The main advantage of taking a V-Hire is that they’re generally faster than buses since they make fewer stops along the way. Plus, with a smaller group size, V-Hires offer a more direct route to certain destinations, making the ride more convenient and comfortable.
You can easily find V-Hires at the Cebu South Bus Terminal. They’re all air-conditioned, providing a cool and comfortable ride. Prices for V-Hires vary depending on your destination, but they usually cost a bit more than buses. Still, the added speed and convenience make it a great choice for many travelers.

Bus, V-Hire Ticketing and Prices
There are three ticketing counters at the Cebu South Bus Terminal. The first one is located at the main entrance. Each counter corresponds to a specific bus operator, so you can check the bus names displayed at the windows. If you’re unsure which bus to take based on your destination, feel free to ask the staff at the counter for guidance.
The second ticketing counter is located inside the terminal for those dropped off inside. Finally, the ticketing counter for Sunrays Bus Operator and V-Hire is near the exit of the terminal.
Ticket prices vary depending on your route and the type of bus you choose. Air-conditioned buses generally cost a little more. Once you’ve paid and received your ticket, take note of the door number on the ticket. This will direct you to the appropriate bus area, or you can look for your bus route name displayed. Keep your ticket with you as you may be asked to show it for inspection during the journey.
